The body is made up of interconnected muscular chains or slings.  This concept has been around for decades.  More recently these muscular slings are thought to be the key to understanding human movement.  How are individual bones that are only physically connected with soft tissue able to work in concert to produce amazingly complex human movements?  The concept of integrating these muscular chains or slings into training programs is the cornerstone of Dr. Dischiavi's philosophy termed the Dynamic Kinetic Chain Integration System.

  • Fully functional system of exercise
  • Functional core integration
  • Replicates human movement
  • Corrective exercise
  • Whole body approach
  • Links upper to lower body
  • System is portable allowing you to have a complete home exercise program, which will help you cut down on office visits - which will help you save some dough!!!

What is the stabilitYsystem?

  • Doctoral Degree PT (DPT)
  • Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
  • Masters Degree in PT (MPT)
  • Board certified as a Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) by the APTA
  • Certified Manual Therapist through the Ola Grimsby   Institute (COMT)
  • Certified in Active Release Technique (ART): Hip & Pelvis
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)

The stabilitYsystem has been designed by Dr. Dischiavi to integrate upper body training with lower body training while activating the entire core musculature.  This is the most functional way to train and most closely resembles human movement.  The same reason we walk with an alternating arm and leg swing, is the same way we should train the neurologic system.  It is a "full-system" approach to training movement efficiency.  The stabilitYsystem has a capital "Y" in the middle of the name because of the unique band system Dr. Dischiavi has created looks like the letter " Y" and its the cornerstone of his philosophy- which is to centrally stabilize the whole body as one complex system!

Dr. Dischiavi's

Dr. Dischiavi is currently an Assistant Professor within the Physical Therapy program at High Point University in North Carolina.  He  is also the Director of Rehabilitation for HPU's Division I athletic program.

Steve was the physical therapist and assistant athletic trainer for the NHLs Florida Panthers for 10 seasons. Steve is a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) as well as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).  These dual credentials are rare and highly sought after in the sports medicine community.

What makes Steve so unique is the way he has woven all his specialized credentials and experiences together.  He was the administrator for an outpatient physical therapy clinic for over 10 years, where he learned the ins and outs of running a business.  Steve has found working with professional athletes to be the highest demand on his skill set.   Pro athletes have the resources to seek anyone or any type of treatment.  Gaining the trust of a professional athlete is an accomplishment.  There is a constant challenge to help the athlete reach his or her  peak physical performance.
